Application Process
While we accept applications on an ongoing basis, you may not be contacted until we are ready to interview and onboard new members. Interviews are conducted with a panel of SORS members representing our divisions and committees.
After interviews are completed, the Membership Committee meets to evaluate applicants. Based on the number of available slots in each division, the membership committee will either recommend or not recommend each applicant for membership.
All recommended applicants are presented to the general membership at the next squad business meeting where squad members will have the opportunity to voice any questions or concerns about the applicants. Prospective members are then voted upon by the squad and a decision will be provided to each interviewee within 7-10 days. Individuals who are approved by the squad become provisional members of the division(s) to which they applied and participate in an orientation process to introduce them to the organization and receive detailed information on training requirements, supplemental information, etc.
